We went for a dinner after rainy evening. Soups made great start, then spring rolls and then beef noodles and sweet and sour pork with rice.
Everything was very tasty. Staff was very nice.
I will plan to go back for sure.
Atmosphere has 4 stars only for those who are looking for modern restaurant. But I go to eat out for flavours not for posh place.
Place got really busy for dinner by locals. To see less tourists and more regulars confirms that it is to go place for flavours.

First came to Wong Kei in the 1980's. The staff these days are far friendlier. Back then solo diners were only reluctantlu given a menu if they requested one...

Now the staff are much friendlier. Also, solo donors now have their given to them once they've finished eating - in the old days, you were expected to go to the counter to pay.

Food is still as good as ever - menu has expanded since those days. Went for the car stuff pork & soya chicken on rice. Back in the 80's that would cost £1.80 - now it is over £11.. Worth every penny..

Always recommended..

Good value, big portions, decent food. Had like a rustic Hong Kong feel, fast service, not the most warm welcoming as you may be used to in the UK but I came in with awareness that that’s just how they are. I did get good service from a lady and there’s no service charge. Atmosphere is not the modern type but old school. Never had such a generous portion of 3 roast meat with rice. Won tin soup probably needed topping up with chilli oil and soy.

Not bad at all.

Went in with the premise that this restaurant has the rudest waiting staff in London. Our experience didn't quite live up to that title, but l can understand how customers may see the direct and fast approach to this restaurants service culture as rude.

The wait (On a busy Friday) was about 25 minutes for a party of 8 non-booked guests. The wait was inside and on the stairwell for the second floor the entire time, which was a bit concerning from a safety perspective.

The food was lovely and tasty. Real wholesome flavours. The Chicken wings were amongst the best I've ever tasted. Unlimited green tea was nice. We had mix of dishes to share, so the variety of about two dishes per person enabled us to try a wide variety of menu options, in which none disappointed.

I mistakenly deleted most of the photo's I took at Wong Kei.

Food: It's good Hong Kong styled food with a wide menu range which was something that I was happy with. There is a lot of different dishes that they can make and having survived for so long, you can see why.

Service: It's very typical Asian restaurant Asian service. Quick and to the point which I find nothing wrong with and when asking for things, they do give it to us so it's not an issue. Especially as it is an 'eat and get out' type of restaurant.

Atmosphere: a bit quiet but for a dine and leave restaurant it's fine.
